During 2020, we focused on developing our online and blended training events, resulting in the design and creation of this website. Why have two websites when you can have one?
The simple, quick answer is that we wanted to reduce the clutter! We design, build and maintain our own websites. Behind the scenes of what you see are multiple layers, design tools and customisable elements. To make it easier and more focused for ourselves, we wanted a completely separate website purely for our online training events. A website that could allow us to create accounts for participants in order for access to certain areas that remain hidden to the general public.
Designing for Learning: Online TrainingYou are currently on the Welcome page for this website. Many of the pages are hidden or require you to log in with your account details. As an online participant, you are likely to have accessed the training via an InService Day with your school/setting or via a council-wide CPD/CLPL event that has been organised in partnership with Single Steps Learning. Online participants will have been emailed an invitation and full instructions for accessing their specific training. This may include creating an account, along with a secure password. You may have already signed up for one of our online training events. If so, we are looking forward to joining you online. (Fast forward to 2022 and we are now using our Training Website as part of our 'in-person' events - using the best of the online tools to further enhance the benefit of working collaboratively in a face-to-face capacity.) |

For those of you who are interested, the header image captures the stunning sunset at Gavinburn Cottages, overlooking the River Clyde. It was taken after a successful first week of a school project in Clydebank and seemed like a good choice for this website as our first online training events were designing for teachers and educators in West Dunbartonshire.
