This training event will consist of a series of linked learning experiences which are underpinned by Five Key Concepts.
Although Designing for Learning (DfL) can be applied throughout curriculum design, West Dunbartonshire have requested a specific focus on connecting DfL to STEM and IDL (Refreshed Narrative).
Step 1 and 2 are designed to engage practitioners in experiential learning, exploring first-hand the use of tools and processes that support the development of a collaborative, problem-solving learning community. Throughout the training, guided reflection allows participants to consider the transfer of strategies to their specific setting. It explores how principles for curriculum design can be brought to life in real settings with real learners, enabling practitioners to further understand, inspire, challenge and unlock potential for learning.
Designing for Learning Step One: 27th, 28th, 29th April 2022 An initial 3-day event. A focus on introducing and exploring the Five Key Concepts. Broad Theme: Breadth and Linked Learning Experiences |
Designing for Learning Step Two: 20th, 21st, 22nd September 2022 A return for the second 3-day event. An opportunity to share and reflect on the impact of experiences in your setting. Broad Theme: Progression, Depth and Challenge |
We are delighted to be returning to 'in-person' training events. We have carefully considered the design to ensure that we adhere to any current safety guidelines and requirements.
The training will contain a variety of different elements, including the opportunity to work individually and collaboratively whilst exploring the Five Key Concepts in action. It will be an experiential training event that incorporates a refreshed blended approach using online tools at particular, relevant points. You do not need to have previous knowledge of the online learning tools, just a willingness to engage with them. We will give full guidance during the training event - including access to areas of our Training Website which hold additional resources and materials. |
